We are over the top. Departed Red Bay, Labrador at 6AM to beat the weather
across the Belle Isle Strait. Nasty winds (Gusts 35-45, Gale Warning)
predicted starting late today and into tomorrow. Had plenty of fuel, so
pushed it up to 13 knots at 2875 rpm and was off the water in St Anthony by
1100. Interesting confused seas rounding the top of Newfoundland.
Sea swells following but surface waves on the head.
Many fairly large (65 foot) shrimp trawlers in St. Anthony. Evidently
there is an Atlantic Shrimp fishery, though many complaints about Asian shrimp
flooding the market ("I'm telled thet they dun't taste suh ghud.")
